Value-based healthcare is a healthcare delivery framework that incentivizes
healthcare providers to focus on the quality of services rendered.

The value-based healthcare model focuses on increasing the quality of care,
rather than relying on the number of patients treated (fee-for-service healthcare).

Under a value-based healthcare model, healthcare providers (including hospitals and physicians) are rewarded based on patient health outcomes (accurately coded).

When a provider codes to the  highest level of accuracy  (the value-based healthcare model)  they could receive a higher reimbursement  for one patient verses seeing 10 patients under the fee-for-service healthcare model.
