A Coding educator provides risk adjustment subject matter expertise, leads continuous evolution and innovation in coding processes, computer assisted coding and computer/software applications.

Wilson Clinical RN coder Educator develop and coordinate educational and training programs regarding elements of coding such as appropriate documentation, accurate coding, coding trends found during audits and annual coding updates.

Wilson Clinical RN coder Educator conducts company-wide coding and documentation training programs for groups and individuals (physicians, coding specialists, and other staff).

Responsibilities: 

1. Develops curriculum and materials for documentation training programs.
2. Responsible for conducting coding training programs for coding specialists and providers. Creates presentations, develops learning material, handbook and other training materials.
3. Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes.
4. Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations.
5. Active participation in field/remote coding educator activities for HEDIS and Risk Adjustment documentation and coding which may include chart reviews, audits, provider engagement activities
